The Holliston Public School District is searching for a Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position reports to our Director of Maintenance and is responsible for maintaining the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full education use of it may be made at all times.
Qualifications:
Experienced in a variety of building trades necessary for the maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings. Certified HVAC service technician or a licensed electrician would be a great asset to our facilities.
- Proficient in maintaining and repairing equipment associated with the heating and ventilation of school facilities such as, but not limited to, oil burners, boilers, pumps, air compressors, fan coil units and related piping/pneumatic and electric control.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to work from work orders, drawings, blueprints or verbal orders.

Ability to perform maintenance work including lifting, snow removal, unloading trucks, etc. and working off of ladders.
Responsibilities:
- Repair and replace plumbing fixtures and piping for mechanical systems.
- Repair and replace electrical fixtures necessary for the operation of electrical systems.
- Install and maintain door closures and passage set.
- Repair furniture and lockers.
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Install bulletin boards and writing boards, wall hangings etc.
- Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervisor.
- Assist in the purchase of equipment and supplies and maintaining inventories.
- Maintain job site and equipment as required.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
This is a year-round, 12 month position that is a member of the Holliston Maintenance Unit Contract.
Public School employees of Massachusetts are required to submit their fingerprints to a National Criminal Database check. The check will require you to pay a fee of $55 if you hold an Educator’s License, or $35 if you are an unlicensed employee. In addition to the national background check, a satifsfactory Massachusetts Criminal Record Check (CORI) is required.
