This professional will work as part of a strong Student Services team to provide proactive and responsive support and services to all students and families.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or higher, state certification as Administrator/Director (preferably special education)
- Massachusetts educator license
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in special education.
- Cultural responsiveness and a growth mindset with students, families, and staff are a must.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as effective problem solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks, as well as the ability to be flexible and organized in a fast paced environment.
- Knowledgeable and proficient with Federal/State laws and regulations and the IEP Team meeting process.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and evaluate educators and paraprofessionals
- Oversee Special Education and Guidance Departments
- Provide School Leadership as part of the administrative team at the elementary school
- Collaborate with Student Services Team and administration to continuously reimagine, and improve services and interventions informed by ongoing needs assessment, data review, and innovation in the field
- Provide Leadership to the Student Assistance Team, identifying underdeveloped skills, antecedents, and related interventions
- Provide Leadership to the special education team process
- Liaison with families and providers
- Assist families to access private, community, and state agency services
- Collaborate with staff, students and administration to identify and provide proactive and responsive supports and programming to all students
- Collaborate with staff, students, and administration to identify, develop, and provide proactive and responsive professional development and consultation to staff
- Develop and enhance community partnerships with varied community agencies to meet the identified needs of students/ families

Placentino is unique in that it offers three programs of study beginning in kindergarten: Traditional, Montessori and French Immersion. We also offer 2 half-day preschool programs: Montessori and Integrated Preschool .
